새벽에 아들 분유 먹이려고 일어나서 크롬 나왔나 찾아 보다가 설치하고 직접 사용해 봤다.
프로그램이 너무 빨리 떠서 놀라버렸다.
게다가 HTML 랜더링도 겁나게 빠르다.
텍스트큐브 텍스트 에디터가 크롬에서 이상하게 떠서 MS 라이브 라이터 쓰고 있는 약간의 불편함이 있지만 초기 모델이라서 그런지 상당히 가볍고 빠르게 페이지를 로딩하는 모습이 인상적이였다.
베타버전에서 이 정도의 완성도를 보인다는게 쉽지 않았을 텐데.. 역시 구글은 멋지다.
IE8베타에 대한 슬래시 닷의 재미있는 글이 있어 퍼온다.

Internet Explorer 8 is in fact more demanding on your PC than Windows XP itself, research firm Devil Mountain Software found in performance tests. According to the firm, which operates a community-based testing network, IE8 Beta 2 consumed 380MB of RAM and spawned 171 concurrent threads
during a multi-tab browsing test of popular Web destinations.

멀티코어도 아니고, 램이 큰 것도 아닌 나의 넷북에서는 IE8은 거의 사치라는 이야기군.
IE8이 얼마나 최적화 될지 모르겠지만 저것에 비하면 현재 구글 크롬은 깃털수준인듯.. (아침에 확인한 기억으로는 크롬은 텝을 4개 띄웠을때 약 14메가 정도 먹는거 같던데… )
